We're back! This week we're providing a fitting send off to one of our favorite lying liars by talking about - you guessed it! - the lies she's told us. Farewell Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and may the odds be ever in our favor...
From the top, Kelly and Beth's top 3 Sarah Huckabee Sanders lies are (drumroll please):
Beth's Number 3:
The time she told America to watch a video that “may or may not be correct” by James O’Keefe and Project Veritas. It was so mind blowing at the time that we did a whole episode on it.
This was amazing, because she states talks in 2 minutes about how Trump is being hit with fake news, how CNN lies with reporting, and how “this Russia Trump hoax”
“If the media can’t be trusted to report the news, then that’s a dangerous place for America.” She talks about how this is to “spike” ratings. She references outlets using “unnamed sources” or “no sources at all” Then she cries that Trump’s successes are not being covered due to the Russia hoax being covered day in and day out. This was her blueprint for how she held press conferences.
Kelly's Number 3:
"The president in no way, form or fashion has ever promoted or encouraged violence.” Obviously, this is an insane lie. Trump has called for more violence than most WWE promoters. He has called for supporters to hit protestors ("If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them, would you? Seriously, OK? Just knock the hell ... I promise you I will pay for the legal fees. I promise, I promise," he said on Feb. 1, 2016.), encouraged police officers “don’t be too nice” when making arrests, shared a doctored video of himself beating up the CNN logo from an old WWE clip, paid for a full page ad calling for a return of the death penalty for the Central Park Five, he also brazenly congratulated Montana Rep. Greg Gianforte after he assaulted a reporter and we cannot forget his claim of “very fine people on both sides” in Charlottesville after several people were injured and one killed for protesting an alt-right rally. He is a bully, and she is the coward that stuck to this lie.
Beth's Number 2:
Her claim that “countless FBI agents" thanked President Trump for firing Comey because they had lost confidence in him. “Sanders admitted that her claim in a White House press briefing shortly after Comey's firing and repeated again in subsequent interviews that 'countless FBI agents' had called the White House to thank Trump was 'not founded on anything'." Hey Sarah - that sounds like a “no source at all”.
Kelly's Number 2:
"The people of this country, at a decisive election, supported President Trump, and we feel like these allegations have been answered through that process." Sanders dismissed claims in 2017 the Trump had sexually assaulted & harassed women, despite 23 separate women coming forward since 1970 to say he had been inappropriate with them. Also, despite an audio recording that came out before the 2016 election. In fact, it seems like the only time he does believe a woman was assaulted is if it politically benefits him - such as the allegations against Al Franken and Bill Clinton.
Beth's Number 1:
"Everybody acts like President Trump is the one that came up with this idea and just threw it out there...There are multiple news outlets that have reported this." This may have been the *first* time that the public was shocked that the POTUS was tweeting what could be possible CLASSIFIED information. The rumors started with a Breitbart article *sigh*. Now, looking back, it seems like this was a smoke and mirrors situation. The President probably found out about the wiretaps on the people being investigated that were in his circle, and they found a way to spin it. Steve Bannon would have directed Mark Levin to put the story out through Breitbart - and viola - a reason to look the other way as to why there were wiretaps around Trump - it was somebody making Trump a victim, not Trump consorting with criminals.
Kelly's Number 1:
“The president has been incredibly clear and consistently and repeatedly condemned hatred, bigotry, racism in all of its forms, whether it’s in America or anywhere else, and to say otherwise is simply untrue.” I mean… Shithole countries, calling Mexicans rapists, not denouncing white supremacists, claiming Puerto Rico is grossly incompetent, inciting hate against the press and we could go on and on...
