Fake News meets Tinder; an interview with Maggie Farley - Episode 10
It's hard to believe that we are on episode 10! A milestone for sure, and one that we celebrate with our first female guest - Maggie Farley from American University, and inventor of the fake news game, Factitious. Maggie compares the games swiping interface to Tinder - which aptly named this episode. (Thank you Maggie!)
Maggie also is a wealth of wisdom about journalism and fake news, and we talk with her about a range of subjects from the game, to whether journalists like lawyers editing their articles, to the templates the fake news brigades were using in France to create meme's about Macron. She also has a few great quotes up her sleeve.
We end the episode with a review of one of the fake news articles from the game. It's a good time, so join us!
Don't forget to check out the game Factitious especially next time you are on the Subway!
And for the fake news...
The article: Decatur man discovers bride is his own granddaughter, no plans to divorce.
