In this episode, Beth and Kelly take a deep dive into bias news/fake news and interview Vanessa Otero of MediaBiasChart.com. Sadly, Beth had the flu and couldn't take part in the interview, but she's feeling much better now - hooray!

Please take a look at Ms. Otero's website for more details on how she breaks down Media Bias at AllGeneralizationsAreFalse.com.

People see bodies like mine and make their assumptions. They think they know the why of my body. They do not. This is not a story of triumph, but this is a story that demands to be told and deserves to be heard.

Our discussion with Vanessa focuses on the intersection of fake news and media bias. She describes a section in her own site where she breaks down several different reports of the Devin Nunes memo - from 10 different sources, with bias on both sides of the aisle. It's an eye opening example of just how partisan the news can be on the same exact subject matter.
Vanessa brought up an important study from Stanford wherein middle school through college students were asked to discern real news from fake content/advertising - the results were not great; however, the rise in digital literacy classes throughout the country is a silver lining.
We also talked about the possible Sinclair-Tribune merger, and Vanessa reveals who she believes is the most dangerous news source.
Before she left, Vanessa shared her favorite jam - Revolution Radio by Green Day:
